SVD 7.62-mm Dragunov sniper Rifle and 7.62-mm SVDS Dragunov sniper Rifle with the folding butt-stock is the sniper’s weapon and is designed for destruction of different pop-up, moving, unsheltered, camouflaged single targets.

 

To fire with the rifle, the sniper cartridges, rifle cartridges with ball, tracer and armor-piercing incendairy bullets are used. Sight firing is with single rounds.

 

SVD and SVDS rifles are self-loading weapons. The automation controls are based upon gas cutting off. Measures are taken to reduce automation control operation effect upon the firing accuracy.

 

The available gas regulator to change the speed of moving component recoiling ensures reliable rifle operation under the constrained conditions.

 

The hammer type trigger has the safety lock.

 

The butt-stock allows for holding the rifle with the left hand in the process of cheek firing, it has the cheek rest.
