PURPOSE AND MAIN TASKS
Bal-E shore-launched missile system (ÑMS) is designed for hitting the enemy individual surface ships and vehicles, inclusive of as part of the ship attack groups, convoys and amphibious units, shore-based radio-contrast targets to ensure coast defense of naval bases and onshore infrastructure facilities, assault defense, defense of coastal utilities within the operating range of Kh-35E tactical anti-ship cruise missiles (ASM) or their Kh-35UE modification.
SPECIFIC FEATURES
Bal-E CMS has the following specific features: -
it may be independently deployed within the combat operation areas, may search, detect, recognize and track the targets, distribute the targets, prepare and fire the ASM and reload the launchers;

it ensures high efficiency of hitting the surface targets due to anti-jam ASM homing system;

it has the capabilities of firing from behind the obstacles along Kh-35UE ASM flight route;

it has high fire performance due to missile re-firing and capability to reload the launcher with the ASM ammunition;

it has own target indication equipment (over-the-horizon RS and electronic intelligence stations) ensuring system full firing range operation without the external information sources;

the launcher, including the missiles, equipment and standby ammunition, are arranged on the high mobility vehicles.
