AK103 Kalashnikov assault rifle was designed to replace AKM modified Kalashnikov assault rifle and its several modifications.

 

The new assault rifle retained the best Kalashnikov weapon capabilities and became more ergonomic.

 

AK103 has the classical arrangement. AK103 automation control operation is based upon gas cutting off. The bore is locked with two breech lock turns. The trigger is of the hammer type and ensures single and automatic firing; it is equipped with the safety lock.

 

The sight equipment is of the metallic type, includes the front sight and adjustable ramp-type sight. The assault rifle is provided with the attachment for GP-34-type rifle-attached grenade launcher.

 

The assault rifle is equipped with the standard assembly for attachment of different telescope or electronic sights. The assault rifle has the folding polyamide-reinforced glass butt-stock. 

 

AK104 assault rifle specific features are the shorter verses AK103 bore and heavy-duty flame arrestor.
