6P50 12.7-mm infantry machine gun on 6P50 infantry mount or 6U6 multi-purpose mount is designed for fighting against the light-armored targets and firing weapons, destruction of enemy fighters at up to 2000-m distance range and hitting the air-borne targets at up to 1500-m height ranges. 6P50 12.7-mm machine gun is the automatic weapon with belt feeding.

 

The infantry version has fire controls arranged on the mount or the unit and includes the pistol grip with the trigger and cocking mechanism fastened at 6T7 mount cradle. The infantry mount is equipped with the telescopic-type butt-stock, including the spring recoil guide rod and sight bracket. 

 

The machine gun is equipped with the sight equipment and may be used with different day-time and night-time sights.

 

The anti-aircraft machine gun version may be used with 6U6 multi-purpose machine gun unit ensuring all-around firing.
